Throughout the year 2015, the committee successfully carried out many activities during meetings which were held on alternate Wednesdays of the month. Activities carried out were as follows:
21/01/2015 - The Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held and new committee was
elected.
04/02/2015 - Members were taught how to make traditional crafts for Chinese New Year
decorations.
09/02/2015 - A calligraphy competition was organized in conjunction with the Chinese
New Year celebration.
25/02/2015 - A Chinese New Year presentation was carried out during the Chinese New
Year celebrations in school.
09/04/2015 - Chinese drum and Ribbon dance combined with Chinese Yoyo
performances were presented during the School’s Academic Speech Day.
01/07/2015 - Annual Chinese Chess Competition was held. 3 prizes were given for each
Form.
Other activities that were carried out during meetings were:
üChinese Chess game among members.
üNewspaper cuttings according to the theme given (current issues) - Group Competition
üRiddles on proverbs to encourage members of the Chinese Society to use Chinese proverbs in their daily lives.
The committee members hope that the incoming committee will carry out their responsibilities to ensure that the Chinese Language Society will continue to be an active society. The committee members also greatly appreciate the guidance and support given by the teacher advisers and the spirit of comradeship amongst members.
