                                                                             Hockey Club Report

The SPI Hockey Club started their training sessions in the month of January. Training was held three times a week. Training sessions for the afternoon boys were scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the school field, whereas for the morning session students, hockey training was held at the Seremban 2 Hockey Stadium (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Training on Saturdays is for both sessions at the S2 hockey Stadium. Intensive training and friendly matches with other teams are also held occasionally throughout the year.
The SPI Under -18 boys took part in the MSSD Seremban 1 tournament which was organized by SASER . The U-18 boys emerged as Seremban 1 Runners up. In addition to that, 10 of our Paulians (Muhd Qayyum Irfan B Zamri, Pavitran Suntarajan, Hambali Halid, Mohd Farees Amirul Arifin, Vinod Kumara Rajah, Muhd Amir Farhan, Danish Fitri Aimizam, Kuheneswaran, Muhd Azam Azmin, and Pariventheswaran Paneerselvam) were selected to represent the Seremban 1 district for the Under -18 MSSNS Tournament and emerged as 2nd Runners Up.
Seven of our SPI boys played for the Negeri Sembilan SUKIM Team (Pavitran Suntarajan, Vinod Kumara Rajah, Kuheneswaran, Poovenraj Murali, Thong Chee Sun, Tan Esvaran, and Ahmed Raees Rafiq Iqbal ) and became Champions.   We also took part in the ‘Liga Sukan untuk Semua’ (LSUS) and were Runners-up. Besides this, our hockey players took part in the Menteri Besar Trophy NSHA League. The players represented OPA and made it to the Quarter-final. Apart from taking part in the above tournaments, the school team had also participated in the NSHA ‘6 -a-side’ (U14), with SPI A finishing as Runners-up and SPI B in 4th place. In the national-level HAPPY HOCKEY Championship held in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur, our boys finished in 4th place.
