2017 Activities

The Paulian LaSalle Confreres organized a number of activities throughout the year 2017.

1. The 26th LaSalle National Leadership Convention
9 delegates attended this convention that was held at St. Michael’s Institution in December 2016. Of the 9 delegates, 3 were from Form Four and 6 from Form Six.

2. La Salle Day of Prayer for Peace (LDOP)
A night of reflection was held at SMK St Paul to spread awareness during the month of October. Prior to that, an interfaith prayer was held during the morning assembly.

3. Orientation for the Form 1
Orientation for the Form 1 students was held to enlighten the newcomers on the background and the history of the school during the Orientation Week.

4. Founder’s Day Celebration
A short sketch on the life of John Baptist De La Salle was presented together 
with La Sallian songs. The sale of cookies and souvenirs was held to collect      fund for PLC activities.

5. Poster colouring competition
A poster colouring competition was held during one of the Wednesday club activities to encourage the students to showcase their artistic talents.

6. La Salle Quiz
A La Salle quiz was held at the beginning of the year to evaluate member’s understanding of the work and labour put in by John Baptist De La Salle, who established the ground work for all educators and educationist around the world.

7. Reaching Out Programme - Children’s Ward

24 PLC members and 2 teachers took part in this year’s visit to the Hospital Tunku Jaafar’s Children’s Ward. This program was carried out on the 21st  of January. The PLC members distributed cookies, fruits, sweets and goodie bags to the staff and children in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.

8. Reaching Out Programme - Food Drive.

PLC members were also involved in the handing out of food to the less privileged students in St Paul. This was done during recess time for the whole month of March.
